NURSING DEMENTIA CARE

Here at Vida, we understand how difficult it can be to place your loved one in to a nursing care home. We work closely with families to ensure the move is as smooth as possible.

All three of our care homes in Harrogate offer nursing dementia care, caring for people living with Alzheimer’s Disease, young onset dementia, complex dementia, Vascular dementia, Lewy bodies dementia and more. Each of our residents receives care that is completely tailored to their needs and lifestyle, delivered by a highly skilled, dedicated and compassionate team.

Nursing dementia care is predominantly when a person’s needs require clinical monitoring. This may include mental and physical needs that are long-term conditions that may require oversight by a registered nurse. When a resident lives with complex needs and complex health issues, for example, diabetes alongside dementia, they may require nursing care. Continuous clinical monitoring and oversight for the complex conditions is required.

Our care is ‘person-centered’, which means we take the time to get to know our residents and support them as individuals. By learning about family and friends, hobbies and interests, likes and dislikes, we can make meaningful connections, helping people to feel at home and at ease.

We are passionate about providing the most effective care. We do this by keeping up to date with the latest research and findings in dementia care, as well as drawing on the high level of expertise we have in-house. A key part of our approach to care involves championing the use of alternative therapies over anti-psychotic medications wherever possible to help improve well-being.

All of our staff receive ongoing training through our very own Vida Academy. This is to ensure they have the specialist skills they need to provide effective, quality dementia care.

All of your care, meals and laundry are included in our fees. We do offer extra services such as chiropodist, hairdresser and physiotherapist at an additional cost.
