Nicola Dodds is this month’s Support Social Care Heroes nomination for Vida Court.
Nicola has worked in care for 16 years, within the Learning Difficulties Sector before making a transition to Specialist Dementia Care over 5 years ago. Nicola initially supported residents living with distressed behaviour at Vida Hall and more recently joined general dementia nursing at Vida Court.
Why is Nicola so good at what she does? It’s very simple. It is because Nicola really cares; for example, purchasing Easter baskets filled with goodies for a resident who does not receive visitors; to supporting family members who are experiencing sad and difficult situations during a night shift, after having worked a day shift!
Nicola works exceptionally hard; she is dedicated not only to the needs of her residents but works extremely hard to support colleagues and other teams within Vida Court. Nicola strives to absorb new skills and strategies every day, so that she can use this information to enrich her residents lives and is taking her professional development seriously so that she can continue to be the best that she can be.
Nicola does not only ‘go the extra mile’ she has been known to run a ‘marathon’ to support her team. We recognise this Nicola and we thank you for all you do.
Thank you Nicola, you are Vida Court’s Social Care Hero May 2022!
